"Will you go on adventure with Me?" "I will!"
- Was His question, my answer, as I cycled
- Zipping in wild abandon down the hill
-
No need for pedalling, my life went so well
- Only joyriding blessing after blessing
- God asked me to go on adventure. "Sure I will!"
-
The wind ruffled my hair and soul
- Stripping away every level of composure
- So my excitement flew uncovered down the hill
-
I stretched my legs, my arms like wings
- I was not alone. Two hands on my shoulders
- Matching grins, we went at adventure with a will
-
Together we went down, a pair of gulls
- Preying upon joy, laughing, laughing, we rode
- Closing in, satisfied, on the bottom of the hill
-
Steam goes out of my body, breath killed
- One tensing muscle after the next, I start work
- Continue this adventure up the road? Not sure if I will
-
Far beyond my reach, into the sky, it is still
- He speaks, I don't answer, focus on the effort
- I lost all gumption on arrival at the bottom of the hill
-
Those hands rest on my shoulders in comfort, till
- I admit defeat. "Trust me?" His head atop mine
- "To guide us on this adventure?" "I will, I will!"
-
"But what about the journey?" I ask, rather ill
- "Help me?" "Yes!" My feet from the pedals, replaced
- And head light with awe I speed up the hill
-
My hands steering, trying to keep on the road
- The Spirit, like wind, blowing through my soul
- We go on adventure, now led by His Will
- With amazing grace I shoot up the hill
