• Does not explode into loud song and dance

• That no one knows of but by lucky chance

• A victory that lasts for months or years
• Like marshmallows' slow melting on the tongue
• A glorious languor between the ears
• Two arms spread wide, a challenge grinning flung

• Into the face of mundane normal life
• “See, I can do whatever I begin
• This proves that I can overcome the strife
• Of doubt, of dread, of duty, anything

• And when you made my confidence a mess,
• I still beat you in this month's round of chess!”
